East Sutherland Energy Advice Service (ESEAS)
ESEAS is a community-based service that provides support and advice on energy efficiency to householders in East Sutherland, and is funded by the Scottish Government’s Climate Challenge Fund.
ESEAS has two trained advisors, Sarah Forest and Cat Wright, who offer householders support and advice that will help them keep warmer at home and save them money on fuel bills, as well as aiming to reduce carbon emissions. The service provided is free and impartial. During a home visit the advisors will:
(1) Use a thermal imaging camera to check for draughts and give advice about draught-proofing
(2) Give advice about heating systems and how to reduce heat loss
(3) Give advice about tariffs and how you could reduce your fuel bills
(4) Give advice on whether you are eligible for help from Home Energy Scotland
On completion of a survey of a house and a discussion on current energy costs, a report will be produced that outlines measures that can be taken to improve warmth and insulation, as well as to reduce energy costs.
More information can be obtained from ESEAS’s Facebook page:
