Retirement Presentation to Raymond Fraser

Raymond became the village’s postman in 1989 and delivered post for the next 28 years until his retirement.

As a token of the village’s appreciation of Raymond’s long and dedicated service to the community, a presentation was made at the Community Council meeting on June 12th, 2018.

In making the presentation, Donald Clarke spoke warmly of Raymond’s loyal service and then gave him a clock on a hand-painted plaque that featured village landmarks and Raymond’s post van. Lesley Mackenzie Ceramics in Tain had painted the plaque.  The presentation also included a voucher for the Carnegie Hotel.

Donald referred to the many dogs in the village that missed Raymond and his inexhaustible supply of dog biscuits. Raymond then thanked everyone for the gifts and for being so friendly, and in doing so said that he only became aware of the presentation 15 minutes before being taken to the Community Hall. A well kept secret and a much deserved recognition!
