The community association has been going for nearly 30 years and its main aims are to provide functions and events for locals, we also like to provide senior citizens with either a christmas party or a parcel the choice is theirs. It has different fundraising events through the year to raise money mainly for a christmas treat for all children under the age of 18 and senior citizens of retirement age; for the last 10 years these treats have been a pantomime trip to Inverness for the children. Those who for whatever reason cannot make the pantomine get a gift voucher for £5.00 the senior citizens have the choice of a christmas dinner or a parcel. We also have various ways of raising funds from doing the teas at the car boot sales, holding an annual sale of work and raffles at the ardmore lodge. We also run something called the 50/50 club were every month we have a draw where villagers have purchased a number from 1 to 115 for £1.00 three there is a 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize the amounts differ from month to month all depending on how much has been collectedit can range from £20 to £30. As the title implies 50% goes on the prizes and 50% goes to the community association for the village. The Association is is a non profit making organisation - every penny raised goes straight back into the village, things that we have done so far this year is various discos for the children, sports day, golden jubilee mugs for all children, not all of these have been distributed (the community council helped us with funds for this), we still have the christmas dinner and panto trip to look forward to, anyone wanting any more information can contact me you have my number and email address The Community Association meets on the first Wednesday of every month at the village hall at 8pm. One main fundraiser is a 50 / 50 Draw which we hold at every meeting. People pay a £1.00 for a number and if their number is drawn can win approximately £25.00! There are 2nd and 3rd prizes as well, the prize amount is dependant on how many numbers are paid for in that month. Should you need to find our more, please contact us. At the moment we have no other definite fundraisers, so anyone having anything to donate to this, please contact us, we'll take anything from books to beds! Also if anyone has any original ideas for any other fundraising events they are always welcome come along to the meetings , contact us or complete our feedback form. If anyone young or old can think of something different to do at christmas we will be more than grateful for any ideas or any other ways that we can bring our community together.
