Some of you will remember the intense discussions that the community had with the new owners of Balblair farm some five years back. We got them to amend their original plans to plant a lot of trees almost down to the village. In the agreement of 2002 they got permission to create a community woodland on part of the land: and a grant to realise the project.

Remembrance Sunday at Edderton

“  ..  Other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.” On Remembrance Sunday, 14th November, a service was held in the Edderton Church to honour the memory of all those who lost their lives in former wars. From the parish of Edderton, 34 men were lost – 24 in World War 1, 9 in World War II and 1 in the Korean War.

On behalf of all members of the Community Council can I wish all readers a happy and successful Christmas and New Year. During the past year the council have continued to represent the local community in matters concerning health, education, housing, water supply, roads & transport, communications, environment and many other one off issues. We will be happy to continue discussing and forwarding your views and concerns during the coming year and always welcome any residents to our monthly meetings.

Post Office Re-Opened!

The Hall Committee is pleased to announce on behalf of the newly formed Edderton Inn that the Post Office has finally re-opened!

Volunteer Required!

The Hall Committee are looking for a volunteer to sell the hall and its services to the wider community of Easter Ross and East Sutherland. This would include the creation of a small leaflet advertising Edderton Village Hall as a suitable location for all types of event.. If you think you can help or know someone who may be interested if they are approached please contact Nikki Beesley on 821373.
