On Tuesday 11 th November P4-7 went to the Village Hall to look at the World War 1 wall hangings display by Mrs Sonia Bidwell. We arrived at the hall before 11 am, in time to remember those who have been killed in war.
Pupil comments
- I liked the socks picture because of the detailed play dough models. The way the colours were mixed
- together was really effective. Kieran
- I enjoyed being able to look at the old books because they were
valuable. The diary was interesting because there was something written
for each day and the handwriting was old-fashioned. Jamie
- I liked how she didn’t do paintings, the pictures were made out of old stuff. Finn
- I liked the medals on the pictures. They were really old and I liked the patterns on the piece of wool. Ben
- I liked the way that she made the pictures, they were unusual how
she knitted them and stuck wood and things you wouldn’t normally stick
on. Rhiannon
- I liked it because it was really interesting and the pictures were good. Ruairidh
- I thought they were interesting and I liked all the army collections and badges. Claire
- It showed real life and a contrast between how life was in the war and how life is now. Genavieve
- The pictures were nicely done and it was cool how she had knitted them and stuck different things on them. Siobhan
- I liked the knitting picture because it was different to the rest
because it showed being at war and at home. I liked the poem that went
with it too. I liked how she collected the pieces for the pictures. Alex
- I liked the socks picture because it was amazing how she made the socks. I liked all the weaving on the
- metal frame. Ian
- I thought the pictures were very imaginative and very well made. The pictures explained the poems very
- well. Katie
- I thought the pictures were good because Mrs Bidwell used materials as well as old things, like the bugle.
