The Highland Council is once again organising a programme of guided walks, open days and talks on local history in early October. A booklet giving the full programme will be available from the local library. Here in Edderton there will be two events...
Wednesday, 4th October: ‘The Picts that were in Edderton’
Visit the places in Edderton where the Picts left their mark. Meet in the graveyard car park at the East Church at 10.00 o’clock. Finish about 12.30hrs, when the East Church will be open.
Friday, 6th October: ‘The Hill of Edderton – a former Crofting Community’
Visit to the Hill of Edderton to see the history of land use in our parish, cruck framed croft house, former crofts and chambered cairn. Meet in the graveyard car park at East Church at 10.00 o’clock. Finish about 12.30hrs, when the East Church will be open.
For both days, there is no need to book but please bring stout shoes and a waterproof jacket.
