Cartomie B&B

Cartomie is traditional Bed and Breakfast in a modern bungalow in a rural setting close to the scenic Dornoch Firth.  A non-smoking household with two en-suite rooms.  One double with en-suite shower and one king-size double/twin with en-suite shower over bath. Both rooms are equipped with hairdryer, flat screen freesat television and tea and coffee making facilities.  Free wi-fi.

Guests can enjoy the sunsets in the evening and have breakfast in the morning in the conservatory with lovely panoramic views of Struie Hill.

Cartomie is close to the village of Edderton as featured in Ian Rankins latest Rebus Novel, “Standing In Another Man’s Grave”. Balblair Distillery in the village was the backdrop to the film “The Angel’s Share”.   Dornoch is nearby, 9 miles, with it’s famous golf course and Cathedral and the historic Royal Burgh of Tain is 5 miles away, both with a choice of places to eat.

Cartomie is well positioned for visiting the coastal villages such as Portmahomack, Golspie and Brora and the lovely beaches of Dornoch and Embo are just a short drive away.

The historic Edderton Old Church has a preaching ark and Pictish stone in the churchyard. There is another Pictish stone in the center of the village. These stones are part of the Pictish Trail, which winds it’s way through this part of the coast. More stones can be seen on the Fearn Penninsular and at the Tarbet Discovery Center.

The whole area is good for wildlife and walking. The National Nature Reserve of Loch Fleet is popular for its birds and seals. Chanonry point with the possiblities of Dolphins is on the Black Isle.
